MKA brings home Gold from Chicago
Sensei Barry Power along with brothers Brian and Darrell and student Sean Huchzermeier competed in the Windy City Karate tournament on April 28, 2006.
Five gold medals, 4 bronze and a lot of fun:
- Barry Power was awarded 1st place in individual kumite, 1st place in team kumite and 3rd place in team kata
- Darrell Power was awarded 1st place in team kumite and 3rd place in team kata
- Brian Power was awarded 1st place in team kumite, 3rd place in team kata and 3rd place in individual kata
- Sean Huchzermeier was awarded 1st place in individual kata and 3rd place in individual kumite

MKA tests its stuff at the Windy City Tournament
On March 10, 2007 eighteen athletes from the Missouri Karate Association arrive in Chicago to weigh in on traditional Shotokan karate.
Eight gold medals, twelve silver and eight bronze in our first real tournament showout. Twenty eight medals is not too bad for tournament rookies!
These MKA athletes considered themselves just everyday people. They now see firsthand that ordinary people can develop extraordinary skills with perfect practice and expert instruction. No tricks, just solid training in kata, kumite and kihon.
