Sensei Fusaro s knowledge of Shotokan Karate is very special. Sensei concentrated on the back leg connection and how important it is to creating power and stability. I have noticed, especially in kumite how a lot of karateka, including myself, forget about the back leg. Most times at the end of the technique the karateka ends up on the side of his foot with the knee bending in a direction it should not be in. Sensei really explained in great depth how to prevent this from happening. I would recommend to anyone if they want to be blown away with karate knowledge to visit one of Sensei Fusaro s seminars across the country.

Sensei Nishiyama Training

During February and March of 2007 my brothers and I have had the privilege of periodically training with Nishiyama Sensei's group in Los Angeles. The training was fantastic. We spent a great deal of time with Nishiyama Sensei's top students Avi Rokah and Reuvan Sharff. Their karate ability is the best I have ever witnessed. There is never any contact made when facing these gentleman yet the timing and force of their technique is unbelievable. (The majority of the time you never see it coming.)

I have read many articles about how great Sensei Nishiyama is. But actually feeling this ability through these two students of his has made me understand how much there is to learn. I am very excited that we have individuals like this to lead us for years to come

-- Barry Power
